Instructions for Downloading the Ride withh GPS and Viewing Texas Irish Ride Routes
The Texas Irish ride routes are available on Ride with GPS. Whole numbers (e.g., Route 1) indicate long routes, and .5 numbers (e.g., Route 1.5) indicate shorter versions of the same ride. Follow these steps to download the Ride with GPS app and view these routes on your device.

Step 1: Download and Install the Ride with GPS App

Get the app:

iPhone: Open the App Store, search for “Ride with GPS: Bike Navigation,” and tap “Get” to download.

Android: Open the Google Play Store, search for “Ride with GPS: Bike Navigation,” and tap “Install.”

Install and sign up:

Open the app after installation.

Sign up with an email address or log in with Google or Facebook. Agree to Ride with GPS’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

If you have a Ride with GPS account, tap “Log In” with your credentials.

Step 2: Find the Texas Irish Ride Routes

Access the routes:

Open the Ride with GPS app and tap the Routes tab (bottom menu, looks like a map pin).

Use the search bar at the top to find Texas Irish routes. Type “IRISH” or the specific route name (e.g., “8.5 - IRISH Rockett”).

Identify long and short routes:

Whole numbers (e.g., Route 1, Route 2) are long routes. Routes with .5 (e.g., Route 1.5, Route 2.5) are shorter versions.

Check the route details (distance, elevation, etc.) to confirm you’re selecting the desired version.

Step 3: Save and View Routes on Your Device

Save the route:

Tap the desired Texas Irish route (e.g., Route 1 or Route 1.5).

Tap Save to Library or the download icon to add it to your routes for easy access.

View the route:

Go to the Routes tab and select My Routes or Library to see your saved Texas Irish routes.

Tap a route to view its map, distance, elevation, and estimated time.

Sync to a GPS device (optional):

Connect your GPS device (e.g., Garmin, Wahoo) in Profile > Connections in the app and follow the prompts.

To sync a route:

Open the route, tap the More (three dots) or Export icon, and select Download GPX File or Send to Device (if supported).

Transfer the GPX file to your GPS device (e.g., for Garmin, place it in the “NewFiles” or “GPX” folder).

On your GPS device, find the route under “Courses” or “Routes” to follow it during your ride.

Step 4: Follow the Route During Your Ride

Start the ride:

In the Ride with GPS app, go to the Ride tab (bottom menu, looks like a play button).

Tap Routes, select your Texas Irish route, and tap Start Ride to load it for navigation.

Navigate:

Follow the map on your phone or GPS device, showing your position on the route.

For turn-by-turn navigation (free with Basic account, enhanced with Premium), ensure voice cues are enabled in Settings > Voice Navigation.

To return early, tap Route Options and select Navigate to Start for the shortest path back.

Track and save:

After your ride, tap Finish to save the activity. View your map, stats (distance, speed, elevation), and share with the group.

Tips

Internet: Load routes with Wi-Fi or data. Save routes for offline use (Basic accounts can save one offline map; Premium offers unlimited) by selecting Make Available Offline in the route details.

Privacy: Adjust settings in Profile > Privacy to control who sees your activities or hide specific ride details.

Free vs. Paid: The free Basic account allows route viewing, saving, and basic navigation. Premium features (e.g., advanced turn-by-turn, offline maps) require a subscription.

Route Names: Check the route number (e.g., Route 1 vs. Route 1.5) and distance to select the correct version.
